Nesco FG-300 400 Watt Food Grinder
Cheap and does not work
I purchased this grinder to process my deer and elk meat during hunting season. The bottom line is that this grinder is so poor that part way through my first deer of the season I gave up and went back to the grinder attachment on our electric mixer. This grinder constantly plugged up if there was the least little bit of gristle or fat on the meat. This this is trash and I would NOT BUY under any circumstance. I thew mine in the trash as it is useless. Don't waste your money on this.
Great Grinder if you Follow the Instructions
I am a home sausage maker and have used a mixer attachment to grind meat and stuff casings. The Nesco FG-300 400 Watt Food Grinder is on the lower end of grinders as price goes, but it works like a champ. It has good power and doesn't tend to bog down. The feed chute is large and well designed and holds enough meat for a decent batch of sausage. Be sure to prepare the meat as specified in the instructions before grinding. If you are grinding fatty meat you may have to stop once in a while and clean out the auger. Highly recommended.
NOT a commercial model
I purchased this grinder under the "Open Country" name.
This grinder is a dandy little home appliance. It chews through small-ish (2"-3") chunks of meat with no problems. Perfect for day-to day use, as we like to marinate wild game meats before grinding and cooking. I have had no problem with sinews clogging the machine, but then again I have only ground up to 3 pounds of meat at a time.
This is a CHEAP model, so it does have some PLASTIC parts. Therefore bones, bullets, and other non-grindable materials should NOT be put though this grinder.
Don't get this product if you expect to grind 50 pounds of meat in one setting. The instructions CLEARLY say not to let it run more than 15 minutes at a time. Don't spend less than $100 (well, really $200) bucks and expect commercial quality!

Grinding Tips
Fine Cutting Plate - Use for finely ground texture, such as spreads, baby food or hamburger.
Medium Cutting Plate - Use for ground meat in soups or relishes.
Course Cutting Plate - Use for coarsely ground texture, such as nuts, vegetables or ground meat for chili.
Raw Meat and Fish - These items will have a minimum loss of juices if thoroughly chilled before grinding. When grinding larger quantities, fats can build up inside Grinder Head. If this occurs, disassemble and wash parts in soapy water, then reassemble. After grinding meat, you can clean Feed Screw by grinding a slice of bread.
Remove all bones, tough tendons, nut shells, etc. before grinding.
Nuts - Use Course Cutting Plate and feed nuts into Grinder Head slowly. Whenever possible, alternate with other ingredients, such as dried fruits or vegetables.
Bread Crumbs - Best if using dry or toasted bread. Make sure all parts are free of moisture before starting.
